Customer Reviews
Get some slant-tweezers and these for the perfect pair
The tips of these things are like SHARP needles, and they are perfect for "isolating ingrown hairs" beneath the skin. Like the other reviewer, I found it difficult at times to pluck hairs using the needle-like tip of the tool.
The trick is to use the flat area of the tweezer, located just "before" the tips are tapered into points; from there you can grip the hair well enough to pluck it. It's enough of a hassle that I ordered a pair of Tweezerman's slanted-cut tweezers to do the "heavy lifting" plucking, and will use these for the precision work (that is, isolating the hair or splinter or bullet fragment.)
Make certain you keep the clear-plastic tube that covers the tips in the packaging. You will need something to keep from poking things as you retreive or sanitize them. I skewered the tube the first time I tried to use it to cover the tips, so I need to find some kind of alternative sheath for travel.
Anyway, I've had them almost a month and I'm very impressed at how well they hold their edge. The packaging material promises Tweezerman will gladly grind (re-sharpen) the tips for free -- you only pay postage. They're replace a broken or "soiled" tool for a flat $5 + postage, FWIW.
I paid twice the price...
Can't believe I didn't check Amazon's price first. I paid nearly twice this price locally to get these, and I now have 3 pairs: 1 for the bathroom, 1 for my purse (chin hair emergencies can happen anytime, anywhere) and a spare pair in case the tips get bent (Tweezerman will sharpen and straighten tips for a very small fee).
Bottom line: I've used these for several years and they are the absolute best for ingrown chin hairs (menopausal women know very well what I'm talking about) and essential for splinters. And 9 bucks is a great price for something so indispensable. I plan never to be without a pair within easy reach for the rest of my days, and I really don't say that about much.
Great general-purpose tweezers
I purchased a pair of these tweezers to help me fix a very delicate gold chain necklace that had gotten tangled. No other tool in the house was effective, but once I got these, I was able to fix the necklace very easily.
What makes these tweezers so great is that they have a sharp tip that is very good at holding on to whatever it grabs. They also hold their shape (i.e. they don't bend) like other tweezers do. I use these tweezers now for all my "tweezing" needs.
I think everyone should have a pair of these tweezers on hand.
