Helps to get a great shave.
I have heard many people say that it is a rip off to buy pre shave oil and that it is easy to make on your own. I dont have the time or the desire to make my own oil to save a few bucks.

I have used both the Anthony brand and the Art of Shaving and prefer Anthoy for the main reason is the scent is very mild and not over powering like the The Art of Shaving. You only use about a nickle size each shave rub it all over your beard apply shave cream. What comes next is one of the closest shaves you will ever get with a cheap razor. My wife always admires my shave after I have shaved with shave oil.

The cons are the oil is sticky and you really have to make sure that you dont spill it all over. It also really sticks to your razor blade and you will go thru razors quicker.

The plus is that your shave will be so close that you can skip a day or two shaving.

If you want your face to be as smooth as a baby's bottem than I suggest you try Anthony's shave oil.

Not bad, but looking for better
I've been using this for about a month now and it works pretty well. I've also used The Art of Shaving's pre-shave lotion and while they seem to work, I *hate* the greasy, oily feel they both have. Granted, after you've shaved, your face doesn't feel greasy, but it still kind of grosses me out. I've used Zirh's pre-shave oil and it's not greasy whatsoever. I think I'm going to go back to that or I'm going to keep looking.
